This is a recent quilt I have quilted for a lovely lady in Norwich. Her love of hares and collecting of various patterns of them had resulted in quite a beast of a quilt in terms of size. And her choice of fabrics including for the backing meant it was also quite heavy so quilting it on a domestic machine wasn't option.
I love hares too so this was a joy to quilt. I used a variety of quilting designs, by and large quilting the same design in the same block when it appeared in the quilt to give the quilting cohesion and purpose. I largely focused the quilting on the backgrounds rather than the harres as these were stunning enough and I wanted to give them physical prominence as a result of them being unquilted.
