Kaffe Fassett curtains!
I am fan of both Kaffe Fassett fabrics and the designs of the Modern Quilt Studio aka Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr so absolutely fell in love with one of their patterns. I decided to make some window hangings for my studio as conventional curtains aren’t an option for the shape of windows I have a either end. Making the blocks was wonderfully straightforward and they came together quickly.
And then it was onto the quilting. I decided to do 2 different quilting designs on each column of blocks making 8 different designs on each curtain – something you can only do on your own stuff or for a client who gives you free rein! I alternated between complete free hand designs and ones using a ruler for at least part of the design. For the pink crosses it seemed obvious to keep it simple and straight lines don’t come much simpler.
Once I’d put on the binding, it was then a question of cutting, yes cutting, into my quilt to put in the curtain rings and hang it up. Now I’m busy quilting the second one!
