Christmas scrap quilt coming together
So I’ve now made 9 blocks of half triangles in different layouts, some with pinwheel centres. I briefly thought about going up to 4 x 4 blocks but that’s nearly as many blocks again and they are quite time consuming and I’m running out of some of the fabrics. So to make the quilt slightly larger than the 50″ x 50″ and to provide more movement and interest, I’ve decided to add some half triangle “sashing” between the blocks. This has also enabled me to off set the blocks between the rows which I rather like.
Now the centre is all sewn together, it’s onto the borders which are made of up of yet more half triangles! I’ve worked out it will take 180 half triangle blocks. I’ve been making plenty as I’ve been making the blocks but think I need to make another 100 or so! Something to do when I need some down time from my next quilting job which I’m just about to load up
