Fun time with fabric
I’ve had great fun playing with some of the fabrics I bought in Normandy earlier this summer. The fabrics were so gorgeous I didn’t want to cut them up too small and didn’t want anything to detract from them. So I opted for some improv piecing, which I have to say I find really liberating and fun.
I put together some “blocks” and then made 3 rows
And then I thought it would make a really happy laptop cover for my step-daughter, particularly as she loves cats. So I made another 3 rows and now had enough for each side.
As I didn’t want the quilting to do more than add some texture, I used invisible thread and quilted a meander over the pieced sides
et voila – as they say in Normandy!
